Overview
The Crete-Monee Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1995 to support the educational opportunities offered to the students of District 201-U. As school district budgets continue to shrink, the foundation works diligently to ensure that students are provided a world-class education. Throughout the year, the Crete-Monee Education Foundation hosts several fundraising events to raise funds for the district's educational programming initiatives. These events include the annual Wine & Cheese Gala and the Homecoming Tailgate Party. The Wine & Cheese Gala is held in the spring and brings members of the local community together for an evening filled with live music, hors d' oeuvres, a silent auction, and more. Alumni, community members, staff and students gather each year at the co-sponsored Homecoming Tailgate Party which is hosted by the Crete-Monee Education Foundation & Warrior Boosters. This is a free community event that is open to all ages. In 2009, the Crete-Monee Education Foundation also became a Dollars for Scholars chapter. The volunteer-driven chapters help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.
